冰山女士主攻浓墨重彩,画作给人印象强烈,尤其擅长画重彩牡丹,强烈的色彩、活泼清新、如歌似舞,直抒胸意,动感十足,执于法又不拘法度,出于古而丰于古,大泼墨大泼彩的牡丹,冰山女士笑称“摇滚牡丹”,就像摇滚音乐一样充满动感的美。已过花甲之年,走进古稀之年的冰山女士,现居北京,还在不断的走川涉水进行艺术创作,已经进入书画创作的高峰。
Bingshan (real name Yan Shuzhi) is a preeminent Chinese painter and calligrapher. Born in 1945 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, she is a member of the Communist Party of China and the owner of Yanshan Study. Her professional affiliations and honors include: Distinguished Painter at the Training Center of the China Artists Association, Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Expert Committee Member of the Diaoyutai Leisure Brush Meeting, Research Fellow at the Shi Qi New Chinese Painting Research Association of Beijing Fine Art Academy, Painter of Xinhua News Agency Art Academy, Director of the Chinese Women's Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Contract Artist of Global Hotspot Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Director of the China Silk Road Cultural Development Association, Visiting Professor at Peking University, and Visiting Professor at Confucius University. She is also a recipient of the Gold Award of the Shanghai World Expo, and the Platinum Award of the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Art Exhibition.
Ms. Bingshan specializes in rich ink and heavy color painting, with works that leave a powerful and lasting impression on viewers. She is particularly renowned for her heavy-color peony paintings. Defined by bold, intense hues, her peony works exude fresh and vibrant vitality, as lyrical as a melody and as dynamic as a dance. They give unreserved expression to her innermost emotions, brimming with irresistible kinetic energy. She adheres to the essence of artistic rules without being confined by their form, and roots herself in ancient traditions while enriching and transcending them. For her peony creations executed with the grand splashed-ink and splashed-color technique, Ms. Bingshan playfully dubs them "Rock & Roll Peonies", as they are imbued with the dynamic beauty characteristic of rock and roll music. Now having passed her sixties and entered her seventies, Ms. Bingshan currently resides in Beijing. She still travels extensively across the country to dedicate herself to artistic creation, and has entered the peak period of her calligraphy and painting career.
